Los Angeles: January 24, 2023– The Armenian Women’s Bar Association (ArmenianWBA) announces its launch for the Spring of 2023. The ArmenianWBA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the professional advancement of Armenian women in law and aims to harness their collective expertise for the benefit of future generations.
“Armenian women in the legal community face unique challenges,” according to Co-Chairperson Lara K. Zohrabian. “The ArmenianWBA is uniquely positioned to focus solely on the specific needs of its members and addressing the issues that Armenian women encounter in their personal and legal communities. We plan to elevate and inspire each other through a powerful collective.”
The ArmenianWBA plans to provide practical, targeted, and substantive programs that apply to its members’ professional development. It will also offer mentorship by bringing together women in all walks of their legal careers.
After years into her legal career, Co-Chairperson Gayane Khechoomian realized a need for an Armenian women’s group and discovered that her peers, even in Armenia, felt the same. And so, she set out to create the ArmenianWBA with a group of women now serving on its Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
A soft launch is planned for March 4, 2023 in Los Angeles in time for International Women’s Day followed by various networking events, panels, membership spotlights, and Continuing Legal Education opportunities in the near future.
